The synth with a difference. Bass and chord accompaniment while you play. Featured by Apple on the iTunes App Store during the week of 1st Sep 2009.Why fool around with inadequate approximations of musical instruments when you can make real music…..
Rated 3/5 based on 3 customer reviews.
Fun, but not enough for serious musicians
I'm a keyboardist / fledgeling guitarist with a soft spot for musical apps, and figured at 99 cents, I didn't have anything to lose. To be honest, I got my money's worth, but I'm frustrated by how much more this app could be. Unfortunately, the chords for the arpeggiator are locked in. Yep, you can't change that 1st major chord to a 1st Augmented. That 3rd Minor will never be a 3rd Major chord. If you understand what I just said, hopefully this review will help you set your expectations accordingly. If this review went over your head but you enjoy ambient techno and want a simple way to make your own music, this app is definitely worth your money.
Beautiful Sounds, melody keyboard control greatly improved in this update
This is a great trance or ambient synth. The sequencer really helps to drive the feel. The sound is awesome for the style it creates, and the choice of chords leaves lots of room for interpretation and variation.
Adding the Touch Scroll option made a big difference, thank you. If the diatonic keyboard display could be remapped so the non-pitched areas (between Eb - F#, and Ab- Bb do not play, but can still drag, that would complete the control option (we could drag without having to hear a note...)
I'd still like more sound choices, and more notes in the sequencer; chromatic would be great, but diatonic would work too - hey, even adding the 4th would spice it up a lot... I LOVE the ability to control the dynamics, it makes for very fluid and evocative rhythms...
Overall, I love this app!!!
Not what I thought it was
This app falls under the just ok section. When I bought this I thought it would be like the music maker apps but I was really wrong. The way you make music is basically by picking a base tune (all of which sound exactly the same) and then modifing the different scales to particular measurment like volume, tempo, etc. I guess the biggest problem with this is a) the music you are able to make is dull and boring and b) no matter how many times you edit your sequence of notes the whole thing sounds the same regardless.
This app needs major updates and explanations (the directions they do give don't help). Needs more interesting beat and a different instrument other than a piano which take major skill to play.
Note: it would help to understand musical terms WELL to buy this otherwise you have no idea what you are doing.
